Referral information

We are committed to collaborative care. We accept referrals for clinical psychology services from GPs, psychiatrists, support coordinators, case managers, and other medical and allied health professionals.

Referrals can be sent via fax (07 3555 2521) or email (info@snippsychology.com.au).

Referrers may send referrals directly to us, or patients can book an appointment themselves and upload their referral when completing our secure online intake form.

Funding 

We accept:

• Mental Health Treatment Plan (MHCP) referrals
• NDIS (self-managed and plan-managed)
• Bupa ADF
• WorkCover
• Comcare
• Private health insurance
• Private (self-funded)

Out of Pocket costs:

Standard sessions are $235.00.  If your patient has a valid MHCP, they can receive a  $149.05 medicare rebate. Making the total out of pocket cost $85.95 

Patients attending under NDIS, WorkCover, BupaADF, or Comcare have no out of pocket costs. See our FEES page for more details. 

Those with private health insurance should check with their insurer to see if they are eligible for a rebate on psychology or allied health professionals.

For Medicare compliance purposes, all MHCP referrals should include:

-Name

-Provider number (recommended)

-Practice details

-Signature (electronic is acceptable)

-Date

Patient details

-Full name

-Date of birth

-Address  

Clinical information

-Presenting symptoms and/or diagnosis

-Current medications (if any)  

Referral details

-Addressed to a psychologist (or simply “registered psychologist” or “clinical psychologist”)

-Number of sessions being referred for (e.g. 6)  

Statement of eligibility

 For example: 

-“The patient has a Mental Health Treatment Plan.”

-“The patient is being managed under a Psychiatrist Assessment and Management Plan.”

-“This is a direct referral from a psychiatrist.”
